The hurst is shorter throw than the RST shifter?

yes...it's in the actual shifter mechanism not the shifter arm...i'm wanting to do this...but because of my sub box i think i might actually hit....oneo f you guys wanna get a measurement from the back wall in 2nd gear with that shifter for me? it'd be might nice of ya! lol thanks guys

Ill see if i can get some tomorrow, but mine is getting old fast, its almost becoming a pain to shift...i might throw in the stock one again to see what i like better.

No it works, I have a transmission issue, its got a bearing noise. It worked well but alot of abuse, and now spray is taking its toll.

IMO

I have one in a 99 Silverado. It is not a short throw shifter. It really is not better than stock to me. If you want a GOOD short throw shifter, install a T-56 6 speed. The truck 5 speed is NOT a performance tranny. You will almost never hit third in a speed shift. You will get use to the shifter if you buy it and it may be a tad better, but IMO keep your 190 bucks and save for another bolt on.

i really hate to bring this back up, but does anybody got any leads on where to get one of these shifters?

i'm kinda desperate now...

Has anyone replaced just the chrome shifter rod with a more "Hurst" type shifter?
