how many qt's or transmission fluid to refill after dropping the pan?
I'm dropping the pan, once again, to pull the remaining washer out of the 1st-2nd accumulator. How many qt's do you think I'll need to fill it back up? I put too much in it last night, it showed full after cycling through the gears and checking it at operating temp, but this morning after driving it then letting it idle for about 10 mins, it showed over full by about a quart....that's not normal is it?

im pretty sure the trans holds about 10 qts. start off with 7 and keep checking and adding as necesary, take your time and you wont over fill.

well, I put 5.5 qt's in it this time, cycled through the gears, it shows full, right on the money. I'll check it this afternoon and see how it reads. |
i just did a converter & shift kit & had to put 12 quarts in mine, I guess the converter holds the extra 2???

well i just had a stall and trans rebuild and 1 qt went in the converter to start and about 10 qts or so in the trans so if your stick reads correct i think your fine.i dont exactley remember how many qts but i was stating a number to start with.
