Nope trans never would hold on lockup... It work for light throttle, but any higher it push thru the rpms.. Would this cause it to slip in every gear though?

thats one way I test for a slipping clutch/trans... manually lock the converter in whatever gear is suspect and roll in the throttle... should accellerate like a manual trans vehicle. no converter stall/flare is there to be misleading. if your RPM is rising faster than youre gaining speed then youve got an issue... its usually more apparent and easier to pinpoint in the higher gears where load is higher.

No seal on the input shaft was definitely the culprit.
