Default Here we go JakesPerformance 4l80E/Transbrake

Well after a big disappointment from CKperformance, i'm going to give Jakesperformance a shot. There a sponsor over on LS1tech so I guess they on this site to? I also thought about FLT, but i'm interested in Jakes trans-brake and it's a free upgrade right now. From reading many reviews over on LS1, he seems to be known to build a mean 4l80e.

Anyways, after talking with a Jake a good bit, he thinks a level 2.5 build is best for me as I told him I want some head room over my current power. It takes the level II rated/warrantied at 750hp and adds a billet input and billet rollerized forward hub.

Well see, he said about 2 weeks on build time. I'll keep you guys posted on the swap/performance gains.

What about all the money u wasted on the CK? not gonna ask for a refund? Or atleast have them rebuild it and then sell it? I'm so scared to buy a tranny bc I know I'm gonna drive it like I stole it but if it's supposed to be built for high performance it should handle it for atleast 10-20k miles if it's your DD as well

I haven't decided what i'm going to do with the CK trans. It held good to 14-15psi or 600HP, but past that it slips bad. I may just send it back and get it rebuilt and sell it. Also could just send it into Jake for a core charge.

I would contact CKPERFORMANCE, and tell them what happened. I bet he can beef it up for you to hold. It was a few years ago, but I could have sworn that they had an 80E that was good for 2000+HP. If you send that to another company, they will just give you the core value. CKPERFORMANCE will at least help you out with it I would assume.

My issue with CK is it took over two months to get it to me the first time. Was built with the wrong valve body, and took nearly 3 months to get the correct valve body.It was built to hold 900HP, but is slipping with well less then that.
