Help plz
Okay guys I’ll start off by telling you what I have. I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4, has a 4.8 with an s475, headstuds, 80 pound injectors, BFF stage 2 turbo cam, truinion kit and more. Also has circle d pro series 2800-3000 stall with a stage 6 rpm transmission. Truck has mad 627/657 on big wheels and tires as it’s lifted. Trans smoked clutches two days after tuning and it’s been rebuilt, now problem I’m having is that when I go to boost it up from a dig, which I usually have it in manual first it’ll upshift into second but will not shift into 3rd. When you come to slow back down it stays in second but you can manually shift it back into first. When you go to ease back up to second and manually shift it it’ll shift hard. Will stay in 2nd until you let the truck sit then it’ll drive normally until you go to boost it up and launch it. Will shift fine through gears even if wot just does in when you load it up from a dig. |
This has just started recently didn’t do it before. I’ve been driving on rebuild for a while now. |
You're not going to like this.
Time for an 80e. A basic 80e rebuild with shift kit and internal dual feed mod will support much more than that RPM transmission. The problem with 60e's and what you're trying to do, is weight. The 60e's can't handle the strain of a heavy truck. Go get a level 10, 20, 30 or gabillion 60e, it'll fail, they all do eventually. |
Yea but the crazy thing is it does perfectly fine wot through all gears until you load it up from dig. Let it sit and it’s fine just don’t make sense. After it’s been rebuilt it’s been running with the 60e for a while now no problems or slippage just doesn’t like to be loaded up from dig |

When you are loading it up hard from a dig, are you manually shifting it or leaving it in D3? Most of the better built 60e's have the D3 Valve in them. So let it shift itself from the D3 position. What happens?

Why are you manually shifting?
put it into 3rd and let the computer do its thing. but I would be saving for a 80e. I am lifted and tried the built 65e stuff and a stock 80e with a shift kit handled the power better than built 65e |
