I think I'll just keep what I have for now and go ahead and buy a 4l80 and have it built so it's ready to go in. I don't want to buy a converter and then end up doing a conversion later and waste that money. I just want to do this once.

Does anybody know if my NVG149 tcase is an issue with a 4l80e? Is the input shaft correct or does it need to be changed out or machined?
edit: I see there's an issue....

Except I have the NVG149 tcase and it looks like @timetokill no longer makes the adapters.

He just made one recently. You'd have a better chance getting ahold of him on sss forums.

Looks like my choice may have been made for me. My trans didn't want to downshift so I did it manually a couple times and the temp spiked to 275 immediately. I'm waiting on a tow because I don't want to hurt it more. Earlier my engine died when I stopped and then later when I started it up and put it in R it died again, like it didn't want to move unless I power braked it. I'll know more after I get it home.

I don't have time to do the conversion so it looks like I'll get a built Level 3 4L60E from Performabuilt, I need to get this done asap. I need my truck for work.
