Default help choosing stall

Hey guys, like the title says, I need help. I have no idea what converter I should go with or even what the advantages of changing from stock are. I have an 02 Yukon Denali 6.0 with a 2.9l Whipple SC, American Racing Headers, VHP cam 216/224 115LSA, VHP Dual valve springs, Yella Terra roller rockers and tune by BlackBear via Autocal. The trans is a 4L65E built with transgo shift kit and vette servo, rear ratio is 3.73. I'm running 305/30 R26 tires. Any help would be appreciated. I'd prefer to not spend a ton of money on a converter unless it's really necessary since my budget is getting depleted. Thanks!

Do you have any under hood pics? I'd like to see the whipple on there.

The short answer is you should really 80e swap it with a billet converter. The other short answer is a budget converter wont last long in your combo, and I wouldnt expect a 65e to either.

As far as converter choice, you want something tighter. Depending on how much boost you make you almost want it as tight as they can make it. If youre only running 8psi you can afford to have something a tad looser, maybe a 258mm 2800-3000. If you are making 12 or more I would go with a 265mm thats 2600-2800.

Here's a couple. I've thought about the 80 conversion but not sure about the transfer case so I need to do more research.

Thata what CircleD recommended for me but I've heard Yank has one made for superchargers. Any idea on that one?

Here's another question: if I get a verter for my 4l65 I don't suppose it would work on an 6l80?
Edit: 4l80.

I may need to consider changing axle ratios, also something I have questions about.

TCI makes a beefy flexplate.

You can spend good money on a 65 they will tell you can survive... but it would make me nervous.

BTW that's a 2.3 liter whipple. Great blower.

I was looking at the TCI''s. Would a gorged one do or should I get a machined one? And you're correct, it's a 2.3 l Whipple.
