Good temperature port for 6l80e?

I have a cyberdyne digital temp guage that I'd like to install in my '10 Silverado with the 6l80E.

Anyone know if there is a port available on the trans, or am I going to need to splice into the hardlines when I install my Trucool 40k?

The temp sender is 1/8" NPT, FWIW. :burnout:

Check this out..

Did some googling and found that most people like to plug into the test port for their temp gauges.

Stark.

Thanks for the reply, but mine has the 6l80e.

Yeah, I took that into consideration before hitting send :)

I figured if the 4L60e had a test port, the 6 does too.

edit: after some more googling, looks like buying a new pan with a bung welded in will be your best bet on the 6L.

Sorry for my ignorance!

If the trans doesn't have a plug on the side like the older 4 speeds then I think getting a aftermarket oil pan or like you said tapping in after the trans cooler is gonna be your best bet.
