I know when I replaced my torsion bars with coilovers the handing greatly improved, even with the stock worn-out front end parts.

Cornering improved greatly with coil overs but what really impressed me is how much better it handles torn up pot holed roads and uneven pavement.

I am still wanting to do the swap. It just sucks because I got new electronic shocks about 5 years ago and only put about 20K miles on them.

If I'm not happy with the bilsteins I'll consider your setup.

I would have thought the tahoe would ride better than my old ex-cab but it doesn't. I can only presume it's old worn out parts rather than inherent differences of the torsions vs coils up front.

I have Bilstien 5100s in the back of mine and they have always been a little too stiff. I can see a noticeable difference in harshness compared to the front.

my 5100s are stiff as well. The fronts are actually decent (not LT supple, but then again...) The rears us SUV guys have to use are from a Dodge truck, and the part number is the same for 1/2 ton to 1 ton trucks; when talking the 5100 series.

That said, my rear is fuggin mint when we have a trailer, 4 ppl and gear in the truck. Unloaded, the rear is "chattery" and harsh.

My future plans include bypasses in the dual or triple flavor, or 7100s, minimum. I dont have a desert truck, at all, but adjustable damping never hurt anyone.

Here you go. I have this kit, but not installed yet, but I bought separately. I have Viking coilovers, Hellwig sway bars and the Ridetech front arms and rear 3 link section.

Just had my 'hoe fixed up with the Bilsteins and Moog Z71 springs. The ride is impeccable now. I don't know we can attribute the improvement to one thing, but I think it was a combination of all. We found the bolts on the UCAs loose. Front shocks were loose and rear shock bushings were worn out. Not sure why but these 4600s seem much better than the set I had on my ex cab. The Z71 springs also look like they lifted by about 2" just estimating but it's a significant difference.

Maybe the Tahoe just weights more or the fact its coil springs rather than leafs.

I actually just replaced both my tie rods. The outers were Moog and seemed okay but the inners were some no name junk and totally shot. I upgraded to some kryptonite tie rods I read about on a Duramax forum and couldn’t be happier with how beefy they are.

Only downside is the $40 2' wrench I had to go buy that is to long for my tool box drawers.
