Question Gears: Precision or richmond?

Hey guys, I want to change the 3.42 to 3.73, I did a search and decided on this 2 brands.

Which one do you think is the best?
Pros and cons?
The guy that's gonna do the install said that I should go with richmond and that they aren't noisy if the setup is right. I really trust this guy, he really knows his stuff about trucks but, the thing is, that in every forum search I did everybody said that the richmonds are noisy even when the set up is correct so I'm a little confused here.

I know where to buy richmond gears but can't find a place that sell precision, so, the best place to buy could be....???

Also the truck is a 05 1500 ecsb 4wd so the rear diff should be a 10 bolt 8.5 30 splines. Is this ok or not? and the front diff should be 8.2ifs, am I right or not?

Thanks for the help guys.

I have richmond 4.10's and have had them for just over a year. They are not noisy at all!

What I was told from a local guy which I consider very sharp is that richmonds are the best drag racing gear but if your putting them in a daily driver then there no good because they are made softer and less brittle so they don't fracture under high torque of a launch but inturn driving long distances on them heats them up and wears them prematurely.

just got richmond 4.10's in my truck last week and not a noise from them. going from a 3.42 to 4.10 was a great improvement. leaves me wondering what a 4.56 would do??... lol

I chose the factory gears when I did the swap on my last truck. They are still taking plenty of abuse ! The richmonds tend to be a bit noisy in my experiance with them.

I have a set of Richmonds and there is a "tone" that comes from them. However, you really have to be looking for the tone to notice it. It is very faint and if you are not actively listening you cant hear it.

I have Precision 4.10s in my truck, don't know about the Richmonds so I couldn't tell you anything about them, but my gears don't make a peep. I think it has to do alot with the installation. I got them off eBay from 489gear I think the name was. Great people.

Sup Gilberto... I'd stay away from Richmond if you want your gears not while or make any kind of houling noises. Although there might be exceptions, Richmond gears are know to be noisy.
