does anyone know where i can pick up a gear vendor for less than what they charge on the main site?

Ebay! There's a guy out of CA that sells used and refurbished ones. He also sells them with his own electronics package, so it's considerable cheaper. Like 1400 vs. 2500.

No I don't. I just looked around ebay and I don't see any of his stuf for sale. Be patient and keep checking, they'll pop up.
