I have a bad one on mine and it was driving me nuts until I made a temporary fix until I can replace it. It easy to check just get under there and push up on the the torsion bar crossmember. If the bushing is bad it will likely move very noticably. Mine move a good 1/8 of an inch.
smart man, thats exactly what i did a few weeks ago, and sure enough, its the bushings. Take the advise, stop racking your brain, go outside, and wiggle that crossmember. You'll be so relieved that your front end ISN'T actually going to fall out of the truck (I know thats what it sounds like)

PS, go buy some lower ball joints and change those too, no sence in having to get the truck alligned twice.
