Front-end "Clunk"
 

The Clunk is driving me nuts. :confused:
Started after the spindle drop. Happens when stopped and start rolling. Happens sometimes at 2-3 mph. Feels like it is coming from the front right but not sure.

Have read in another post that a worn torsion bar cross-member bushing (wetfti?) will cause the clunk?
Inner tie-rod?

Anything else. It was really noticable earlier today but it seems to do it ittermitantly. What else should I look for?

intermediate steering shaft?

Just had it replaced with the new upgraded unit from GM. I can feel the "clunk" thru the floorboards sometimes it's pretty loud.

If you can feel it in the floorboard I would check the torsion bar bushings.
I have a bad one on mine and it was driving me nuts until I made a temporary fix until I can replace it. It easy to check just get under there and push up on the the torsion bar crossmember. If the bushing is bad it will likely move very noticably. Mine move a good 1/8 of an inch.

Sounds plausible.
My truck has only 17K on it though.

Hmmm I'm inclined to think that it is probably something else then, but at least its easy to check.

My old 99 did that. Tried the shaft, didnt work. I had to replace my rack to get it to stop.

This sounds like the clunk I've had in mine for a long time. I never have been able to find it. It has improved, doesn't clunk as often nor as hard after the drop kit install.

There was a TSB that I read, aside from the mentioned possible causes, of the tranny crossmember shifting and adding some nylon washers between the member mounting bolts and the frame.

It was doing it even more when I got home from the track last night.... :(

Possibly torsion bar bushings, blown shock, tie-rod, ball joint, etc. I'd also check the front diff mounting points, and make sure that your exhaust isn't contacting the frame anywhere. Maybe someone can jounce the truck for you while you look around...
