Default fitting 16" rims with drop spindles

I have a set of steel 16's laying around that I want to put on my 06 silverado. backs fit no problem. the front has 2" drop spindles. Can I use use a 1/4" wheel spacer on the front and fit if i trim the ball joints and grind the calipers some? anyone done this? Its for a track only setup if I can get it to work. Also the rear tire I want to use if a 295 50 16. My wheel is a 16X6.5, how much will I need to widen my rear wheel to get it to fit with what backspacing and / or wheel spacer?

Do yourself a favor, and buy the right spindles.

um, sure they do...MCG does, I have them! You could easily sell the ones you have, or trade

I am thinking maybe putting the stock on and using a lowering torsion key might work. or selling these like you said and getting the 16" one. But I have the 05+ brakes which originally need 17"+ wheels anyway. I might just be at a loss any way I go about it and have to bust out the grinder and wheel spacer...

Well, with that info, things change. You do need the 17" spindle unless I somehow read wrong.
