McGaughy's and Bell Tech both now have spindles for the NBS that don't ruin your turning radius. You have to make sure you get the ones for 17" and up wheels though. The one's that allow you to run the stock wheels are the one's that ruin the turning radius.

I have been lowering truck sense the late 80s for my friends and my self. I have used Belltech spindles on three of my trucks and one from God father customs The first Bell spindles I broke two ball joints. The second only one ball joint. And the last one I made it the two years that I had them on with out breaking one. My friends had many ball joint break on them also. I think Bell has fixed this problem because you don't here about it anymore that I am aware of. With both brands of spindle I used I lost turning radius and could never get the alignment back. One of them was close on my s-10. I have not used spindle on anything sense 1999. I only use DMJ LCA.
Even the guy that did my alignment on my first set of LCA was amazed that he could get the alignment back. When I sat alignment I also mean the camber . I can say that LCA did give me a better ride than spindles.
I am not trying to get in to a pissing war with anyone about this. I am not an expert in suspension.
I have read on here that some people have lost some turning radius with McGaughy's. But others said they didn't. I have never installed or tried McGaughy's.
With my experience with both I will say I will never use any spindle again.

So it sounds like the only experience you have with spindles is with Belltech spindles....and with those, only OBS spindles. Am I reading your post correctly? No experience with McGaughys spindles? Or NBS Belltech spindles?

No... actually control arms are the best way to drop for Ride and steering geometry. Only drawback is bumpsteer.

either way, you swap in a drop coil with a different spring rate, it's going to ride stiffer and take some of the turning radius away.

McG and DJM both make very good and well designed kits. I have never heard of people having issues with either kit.

If you want to drop with just coils, get the Belltech coils.
... Just a rear flip kit and C-notch, go with DJM or McG's... i personally like the DJM axle saddles the best as far as pinion adjustibility and strength.

Spindles are nice to get an extra 2" of drop and do not mess with camber angles and such, but sometimes you need to run a bigger wheel and they make the wheels stick out of the fenders more.... Plus they are expensive.

Not true. The Belltech spindles for OBS Chevys did this, but my wheels are perfect with the McGaughys spindles. I've heard the NBS spindles from Belltech (possible design from McGaughys?) are fine as well.

I know this thread is about a 4/6 drop. But do you guys have experience with the 2/3 drop from BellTech that uses new torsion keys in the front and coils in the rear? I have an 03 Tahoe with AutoRide (the kit is made for the AutoRide models). I have had the kit for some time now and am going to install it in the very near future.
