Default crew cab drive shaft questions

ok got an 06 crew cab. had the stock drive shaft break the other night racing a mustang... questions are what are my options on fixing this issue without breaking the bank..how long is the stock DS and where do yall get loops for this huge thing at? i called a couple performance shops they dont make shafts longer than 60"... just need some info on this...another thing is my truck hasnt had one issue for 8 months. i put caltracs on it last week and a couple days later it ***** a DS..i have them hand tight basically very little reload so what could cause this to break, it broke in 3rd at about 95-100...

I see guys reccomending two piece shafts for CCSB trucks .

Have you looked for someone to make you a steel shaft ?
I had a custom 3.5" steel high speed balance shaft made for 283$ for my ext cab.

You can get a 2 piece driveshaft from a ext and get it high speed balance and it will work way better than a 1piece driveshaft just make sure you get the driveshaft support too..

You are stuck with the stock aluminum, finding an extended cab with the 6.5' bed to rob the 2 piece shaft or do like I did and go carbon fiber 1 piece. The shaft is so long that the critical speed is very low and gets lower if you add some gear to the truck. If you can make the crossmember for the carrier bearing, going 2 piece is the cheapest and easiest upgrade.
