Anybody know of any good links to follow for a torque converter install? This will be my first one and i want to make sure i am prepared before i dive into it. Ive searched on here but am looking for more detailed install instructions. Pics perhaps?

if you are doing it alone make sure you have all day to get it done.

drop the y-pipe
drop the driveshaft (you will have to unbolt the carrier bearing also if you have an ecsb)
disconnect all of the sensors on the trans
disconnect the transmission lines
remove dipstick and tube from trans
drop starter to unbolt converter from the flywheel (you can use the crank pulley to turn the flywheel to accesss each bolt)
drop the transmission crossmember
remove all of the bell housing bolts (the 4 top ones you will need to lower the trans down until the motor hits the firewall and use a 3ft extension to reach)
after you lower the trans the converter will slide off
be sure to put some fluid in the new converter before you install it
put everything back together the way you took it apart

this isnt exactly the order you must do everything and it may be harder with LTs, i dont know i have shortys on my truck

When are you doing it? I've done 2 in my truck now and I wouldn't mind helping you out if I'm in town. Where in Austin are you?

It would depend which weekend. I won't be down there too long. I'll be down from this Sunday till next Sunday and from December 12th till January 15th or so.

I actually live in Dripping Springs to San Marcos isn't too bad. My sister goes to Texas State so I may just stay at her place or something. Just let me know, I won't charge you, just willing to help if I'm not too busy.

Does he have blonde hair and is about 23? If so I played baseball with him. He was a Junior or Senior when I was a freshman
