Default Converter and Flexplate

I know a lot of people will say to just search this and believe me I have been.

I was talking with Chris at Circle D who recommended me a converter for my 04 2500hd 6.0, 4l80e with a BTR stage 3 cam. But I was told I need to change flex plates to a dished style out of a 4160e. Can someone tell me if any of the attached flex plates will work, or point me in the direction of the OEM part # or something that will work. Chris gave me some part numbers for a TCI one and their billet flex plate but I really don't feel like spending $500 on a flex plate.

I understand all of those are very cheap, I'm not looking to cheap out on an essential part those are just the parts I was able to come up with.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

It looks like any of those flexplate should work. You’ll need shorter bolts too.

I'd assume you currently have a 60e and are upgrading to a 80e. If so, just have him build a converter to bolt up to a stock 3 bolt dished flexplate. I have one and fitment is perfect. Just had to use small spacer between flexplate and converter pads for recommended 1/8 inch gap +/- .050. They build great converters. Packaged great and some sweet swag. Even a nice letter in an evelope to make you feel special.

Forgot to add. Chris will build you a converter with any front cover you need to match your current flexplate. Shouldn't need an aftermarket one.

Yep - had Chris do this for me when I did my 80e swap. But, if you're planning on adding power you're best to upgrade the flexplate while you're at it - the stock 60e plates have a tendency to crack under more than stock #s. A pound of prevention, as the saying goes...

Sorry I have been out of cell service for a little while, but no it already has a 4l80e in it, it is a 2500hd 6.0 with a btr stage 3 cam. Only other power it may get are new heads, so I don’t feel the need for a built flex plate. I was talking to Chris and he was the one who told me to get a new flex plate so although he may be able to build a converter with any front cover he did not seem very interested haha.
