Converter bolt issue.
I bought a Coan triple disk torque converter for my turbo Silverado build.
The flexplate has holes in it for #10 metric bolts but my converter Takes #8 metric bolts. Is the little wiggle room on the bolts going to be a issue for me? I hope not I REALLY need to get this tranny in ASAP. |
Would call the manufacturer on that one, but i would not be comfortable with that much wiggle room..

Doesn't the stock verter take the M8 bolts?

I think you are correct now that I think about it...I want to say Chris @ Circle-D sent me M8 bolts too....HMMMM I wish I could tag him in a post......

The M8's are the only ones that fit the pads of the converter. So thats what i used.

Converter to flexplate issues NO....I do know two of the pads on the converter do have heli-coils in them. I'm guessing the tap broke when they machined it and fixed it with the heli-coils. Maybe see if yours is that way too....

I had the same issue with my tci flexplate having larger bolt holes than my circle d converter. I ended up cutting some tube that was a close id and od just to take up some of the clearance so far so good but it would be nice if they were closer in size to begin with.
