Default Classic Crew Cab 2wd leaf spring making a "w"....

I was under the truck yesterday changing oil and power steering fluid and went to take off my oil filter and noticed that the leaf springs on my crew cab were making a "w" shaped like it had a load in the bed of the truck when the truck bed was completely empty. The only mod is 2" drop shackles, the pinion spacer removed to correct the pinion angle, and bilstein shocks.

Any one notice this with their 2004-2007 Classic crew cab? I'm just wondering if I have a bad batch or whether after 63k miles that the leaf springs are just weak and need to be replaced. I've always found it odd that my reg. cab OBS truck can with three leaf springs plus an overload and my heavier crew cab came with two plus an overload. Can someone look under their crew cab with no axle flips and see what their springs are doing?

Thanks!

the size and length of the springs make a difference in load capacity also..

Nothing dramatic but it definitely does a W shape. I'll try and take a picture of it.

Never really tow anything with it that is heavy. Just a small trailer and tractor about once a month.

Springs are broken. I've had a set reworked that did this and turned them into lift springs but for the most part your just stuck buying new springs. My 2000 ext cab did the same thing. Keeping an eye on my GMT900 crew to see if the same thing happens. All I've done is removed the rear lift blocks and reshim the pinion. I tow a 20ft car hauler occasionally but nothing super heavy. My tractor is not real big either, just a 30hp with a 5ft brush hog and front end loader... So far, I've got 60K on this truck and it's showing no signs of damage.

Not the best pictures but they do show the "w" shape if you look and see how the axle perch is higher than the back half of the spring (between the shackle and axle).

I need to take a photo of mine, I think they look like this too...does it cause any ride issues?
