Circle D or Florida Converters
Looking for a converter for an 08 Hummer H2 (6.2l L92), GPI Cam, Speed Engineering headers and true dual exhaust. Nothing special around 450 or so HP. Both say there stage 1 converter will work just fine. GPI says the converter is not mandatory but a 2300 to 2600 will make a large improvement if added.
Price is about the same but warranty is 1 year for the Circle D and 3 years for the Florida Converters (Florida Converters web site says Lifetime but Tech says 3 years).
I've heard more about Circle D than Florida Converters but that really don't mean much.
Any experience with either and which one would you recommend?
Thanks Neal

I've never heard of Florida Converters so I can't give an opinion on them. Warranty is always good but when it comes to a converter failing or the lock up clutch burning up, it can easily take out the transmission at the same time. Me I'd go with a well known company with a good track record over another that dose not. A lifetime warranty and they keep shipping converters over and over won't make me feel better when I'm rebuilding my transmission over and over. Just something to think on... like I said, I have no opinion on Florida Converters... may be a fine product?
When I bought my Circle D I received an email within the hour asking me details of my truck. Stall speed, vehicle weight, gear ratio, engine size, estimated horsepower & torque, tire diameter, camshaft specs etc. After I replied they sent me another email giving me an estimated build and shipping time. IIRC it was almost three weeks. I didn't mind the wait time because I knew they were building to the specs I sent them and I wasn't buying an "off the shelf" converter.

Had a Circle-D 2500 in my other truck and when the trans broke and sent metal through the trans, I pulled it out and saved it. 5 years later, I finally sent it out for a cut and clean and also to Re Stall it. It was only a day for them to turn it around and change it to a 3000-3200. and ship it back. They were also great about helping me get it back to them. Was like $50 and they sent me a new box with foam and a return label to ship it back to them.
They where easy to deal with and kept me updated the whole way. I received Email updates on status and calls when things needed to be verified and confirmed.

yep circle d here as well (on second one). first one was for about the same platform you're on awd yukon cam/bolt ons - did the 278mm, 2800 stall iirc. It was in for over a year with zero issues. they told me it would be good to about 500hp, im sure the weight didnt help but thats about where it just cant put the power down anymore - which they were totally up front about.
the one i have now is a 258mm triple disc, happy with both products and service
