No, I went from OE to Raybestos Advanced Technology and they are slower to warp and when they do its with less severity.

An example is when traveling @, near or above 100 mph and the detection devices go off I haul her down to 70mph as fast as I can they warp.

I wanna see if semi-metallic will give any relief.

As for stopping power, The 05 OE improvements make it really a breaking beast for a street truck. They made the rears proportioned into the picture more than in the past too.
I put the after market brake lines on too.

So any less braking power between Ceramic and Semi-metallic will not make me cry much.

I am with AK on this one, high end met pads on a OEM rotor. I am running the ac delco's ( mid grade) and so far have been working excellent, with hardly no brake dust.

Hmm, I was going to make a recommendation, but after checking the catalog, the brake pad I was going to suggest isn't available for your truck. Sorry.

Whatever brand you choose, get a high quality semi-metallic & you should be okay.

Well please tell me what it was so I perhaps can find it, or just out of curiosity?

Raybesotos Gold Fleet & Police Brake Pads, but they are only listed for the trucks with 4 wheel disc brakes, in my catalog. Carquest is only showing me ceramic pads for your truck, or their "Red" line of semi-metallics, which are junk cheapies, and you should stay away from those ones.

Thanks! Just called Raybestos Tech Line (800-407-9263) and told them I was looking for the Gold Fleet & Police Brake Pads for my 05 Rear Drum Truck. He took my vehicle info and came back with a ATD1092P.

He said they are organic and for the police or pursuit type applications.

He had no opinion on Ceramics vs Organics but did say that my 100+mph to 70mph rapid stops are most likely not warping the rotors but causing material transfer. He told me to look for the spots on the rotors to confirm one way or the other.

We Shall See.

Will do!

It's already looking great @ half price-wise compared to OE. Some stealer-ships want triple for OE. I gotta quote today for $165.00!

Rockauto, com has the Raybestos ATD1092P for $48.79 and OE in the $100.00 range. I paid $80.00 for the OE last time.

So I hope they work out. Price not being the main factor but it would be a nice surprise if they worked out.
