Default center support bearing?

hey all, the center support bearing for a 2003 gmc sierra ecsb where the driveshaft runs through, how much play is the bearing supposed to have in it. mine has about 1/2" each was when the driveshaft is moved. is this normal, and causing the noises i hear under braking. thanks
