CCSB Sierra Driveshaft
Hey guys,
Been doing some research and havent found anything in this swap.
Have a buddy who has a 2006 NBS CCSB sierra that he has dropped 4/7 and is looking for a 2 piece driveshaft since it rubs his cab.
I have an 01 NBS ECSB 2 piece that he wants to trade, but not sure if the swap going back and forth,
Its common for dropped cre cabs to need the 2 piece set up, but i was looking at getting a 1 piece made up for performance reasons.
Want to make sure it wont cause issues or have any vibrations (badly want as less as i can get i know there will be some) or destroy my diff or transmission for wrong lengths. I called around to ask people have have done lots or work, but no one has seemed to do the swap from a 2 piece to 1 piece before. I find that weird unless theres a reason why no one has done that swap.

Ran into a dude a couple of months ago with a 2010 CC short bed and he had a 03 ish extended cab 2 piece in his cause he blew the one piece shaft. He made his own crossmember for it, the crossmember was ugly as hell but he said it was working out great.
Measure the lengths of the two shafts and see what you come up with. I'm also real curious about this because I want to 2 piece my 2014 crew cab and wondering if I can do a early 2000's ex cab 2 piece in it.
I posted up about this before and got no answers either.

The lighter one piece helps acceleration but reduces the critical speed of the shaft. The longer the shaft and the larger the diameter, the lower the critical speed. So what that means for you is it can help performance (acceleration) but the 1 piece long aluminum shafts come apart around 120-140 mph or so depending on your rear end gears. If you have 2.73's for example you'd be able to go much higher speed. If you had 4.11's and short tires you may not even make it to 100 or 110 before the shaft popped.
I want to do the 2 piece so I can go up to 120-130 without worrying. Currently with 3.42 gears and 32" tires my 1 piece shaft starts shaking like a mother at 107
