hey all you see any problems with cleaning this auburn limited slip unit up and running it?

I would clean the carrier bearing sides with some emery cloth. That should remove most of it.

The rust on the ring gear mounts I wouldn’t worry about it. Clean it and run it.

its a new un-use unit thats why im asking, figured polish it up and run it

Sat around in a shop forever

bearing surface sat in water for some time

water got in the bag it was in

I'd run it in a crawler no problem, but for a street truck I'd def be cleaning and inspecting that bearing journal something fierce. Honestly, its probably fine in the end

yeah im gonna try to clean it up and look it over or take it a part and run it over to my machine shop see if he can clean it he does amazing things with engine blocks

I'd bet most if not all of that will come off with a little oil or wd40 and scotch brite.
