CalTracs won't make your tire's contact patch bigger, and won't make your tires stickier. That's what DR or slicks are for. BUT, they will help ALOT to eliminate the traction loss that occurs with wheel-hop or spring wrap.
They also will move the instant center of your chassis(if setup properly), which will help weight transfer on the launch(only if your tires have enough traction to take advantage of this.)

People have the wrong idea of what cal-tracs are for.
They're not going to let you dead hook on the street, or the track for that matter, with street tires. They're to help the axle from rotating, keep the spring from wrapping. It's still going to take some sticky tires and some suspension tuning to keep from spinning
