Caltracs=rake?

I finally got my rear end finished up last night. So now I'm running a 4.56 with a Tru Trac, and Calvert Racing Caltracs. I have had the truck a long time now and when I first put on my twenties (which I sold) I did a 2" rear drop shackle set from Chux Trux. After five years the springs were starting to sag I guess, I never really noticed it. But after putting on the Caltracs last night now I've got a little rake back. I don't really see where is came from other then preloading the spring, but it defiantly sits higher in the rear then it did. I'm not saying I'm disappointed, I just didn't think it would really effect it much. I would say the rear sits an 1/2" to 3/4" higher now then it did before the caltracs. It was dead level, and when I put my quad in the back I thought it looked stupid. But now I'm thinking it will probably be dead level with the quad. Anyway can't wait to get the slick's back on and get to the strip, to see how much the gear and bars lower my 60 ft!!!!!

unload the cal-tracs and let the suspension settle a little. with my bars loaded it isnt noticeable. how much preload did you put to them?

We set it down off the lift and then I got in the back of the bed and jounced it around a few times jumping up and down then set them per the instructions. I believe it was a 1/4 turn after the pins touched the leaf springs...

thats the same thing mine did.I unloaded them, and it dropped back to normal. it really looked good with the overload spring out, but i put it back in while I was chasing a high speed vibration. mine is stiff!!

I left my spring in. I thought about it but there will still be times that I unload them to pull the car trailer full of quads and dirt bikes to the dunes...

same here on my bars, 1/2 to 3/4" up on preload

enjoy them

1/4 turn didnt work for me. i do 1/2 turn on drivers side and 3/4 turn on passenger and drop from a 1.80 to a 1.68

good info thanks! But your probably alittle heavier with a different center of gravity.

im just saying dont take the adjustments that calvert gives to heart. i run a considerable amount more and it works for me. 1/4 turn stopped the wheel hop, but didnt get it to bite. cranking it down eliminated everything.

I have never had wheel hop. i just put them on for the nitrous, i thought it would help. i cut a 1.66 60ft with 4" shackle/hanger drop in the rear and thats it. I saw 1.71 with the cal-tracs but spinning the slicks. I may try the offset adjustment when things cool down in a few months.
