Well said ! I totally agree, just thought a project might go easy for once. I'm aware no one re-pops this part, as far as I've found, anyway. I was hoping to use the high hump molded carpet. If I have to build a tunnel to fit the carpet, I must add this to my resume !

Yes, the T56 is a narrow trans, but my concern is more it's height. Although the T56 is shorter than almost any other top loader, I'm not sure it will clear the stock cab floor in that way. From '73 to '80 the trans tunnel was cut out at the factory and this higher hump was attached with sheet metal screws. This was done to accomodate the 3 and 4 speed floor shifters as well as the transfer cases. I have also been told it was used to fit the TH400, but I've never seen one.
