Buying a 4L85e - where to buy new

Looking to buy a new transmission for my truck and thinking 4L85e. I see 2 versions and tho 19154550 is stronger, I feel 19156257 will meet my needs for now.

GMPP shows discounted pricing thru their dealers with sale price ranging $1000 or more from dealership to dealership.

Where would you buy yours? Or is there a better aftermarket solution for the same or less money?

Thanks!

Wow , an 85e for a grand!!

I'd be all over that, get a warranty too!

Throw a Transgo shift kit in and be done and have one hell of a trans!!! swingit

I bet our sponsor SDPC can get you anything from GMPP.

$1000 was a reference to the price "range" difference from one dealer to another. If I could get "new" 4L85e's (and not 4L80e's) for $1000 I'd be buying them by the truckload.

got a new 4L85e from Pace w/2200-2300 stall. I'll break it in for a bit, then install a kit.
