Thanks a lot for the responses guys. I bought the tranny from a guy who bought it brand new from performs built, but never put it in his camaro. Not sure if it has a warranty once it was transferred over to me. I am going to contact PB Monday and see what they can do. I may have just got a lemon, not sure. I never had a temp gauge on it, so i never really knew the trams temp. I had a larger than stock cooler, plus the stock cooler built into the radiator. I only have a little over a year use of use on it, maybe 9000 miles max!!! I'm not here to bash PB, because I'm not sure if it was on my end or theirs.

Well I took the tranny apart yesterday and there was tons of metal and shavings inside. I believe it was the reverse input drum that let go. There are a lot of teeth missing off of the gears. I will get in contact with performabuilt and see what they can do. For now I am running a low mileage 4l65e until I get the parts to put a 80e in behind the lq9.

I thought PB only offered the warranty if you run one of their converters. Might be wrong though.

My buddy broke 2 level 3's behind a cammed lq4 with 9psi. They did warranty them but the shipping sucks at $250. Plus if you pay labor that kills you. Go with 80e

I wasn't even considering having them rebuild it. I'll save for an 80e swap in the near future, and just take it easy on this low mileage 4l65e

More then likely they are not going to do much if you actually pulled the trans apart.
