Default Which brake pads to get?

I want something that will last. Factory ones lasted 8500. Need something that will last. Bendix are offered here, never ran them before. Suggestions?
BTW for the front of a 05 4x4 crew cab.

My stockers too were replaced at hte 60-70k mark. I have Hawk HPS pads now. They dust like a fother mucker.

Bendix is a good company, as is any other OE replacement you can get at Autozone or Pepboys.

It all depends on your goals, I like the stock ones, but for a step up in braking performance with less fade the Hawk's seem to do the trick for me.

My last truck had Hawks on it and they were the best brake pads I've ever owned. I didn't seem to have any dust problems with mine though.
Going back to Hawk once my stocks now wear down.

I think he meant 85k ,unless your roadracing on the weekends.
I'm almost ready to do my back brakes and need some ideas too.
What about the emergency pads out back?
Mine are already f'ed up after 55k.

No I mean 8500. I ve made 2 trips to the mountains pulling 4 atvs. A few of the hills, I could smell the brakes getting hot. I m assuming thats what did them in. Thinking bout going with slotted rotors too. Wheres a good place to get Hawk brake pads?

something is way wrong if you only got 8500 miles out of your stock brakepads. One thing about GM pads, they last a long time. Even if you tow alot, 8500 miles is way to premature to replace.

Thats what I was thinking but when I rotated the tires, I m down to bout 1/4 of the pad. Not very happy with having to do it so soon either. But I know what the dealer is gonna say, "its a wear item". Hope this isnt what the future holds for my brakes.

PEP Boys keeps them in stock. There are several places online that carry them as well. I've found between $65-$80 per axel. If anybody knows where there is a great deal on them, post up. I need a set as well

I really like the brake set-up I have, got it from a company called Praise Dyno. (praisedynobrake.com). I bought their front and rear cyogenically treated pads and slotted rotors and they have performed flawlessly for almost 10K so far. The truck stops on a dime with no noise and very little dust. They shipped the whole setup from their shop in Texas to my door in New Jersey and I had them in less than a week
