Have a buddy who wants to swap out his 9.5 rear end for my 8.6 because he want to put smaller drag wheels on his single cab. Win for me as I get a stronger rear end and disk brakes. BUT... will they swap out no prob?

9.5 like from a '14?? If so, I don't see why it wouldn't as long as the flange to flange measurement is the same and the spring perches are in the same place. Which most likely they are.

It will bolt up, but I'm pretty sure the joints are different sizes.

I have a 14 here gonna measure it out and see what the dif is... Will see how strong the new 9.5 12 bolts are. I have seen where guys use a spacer on the diff cover and use 9.5 14 bolt parts so I imagine it's pretty stout or can be.

This will be cool to see. Post up the measurements you come up with!

Well here are some quick pics I took of the 2014 and my 2011. Looks like they do both measure the same from pad to pad (46 inches) on the spring perches. Only thing is on the yoke to axle tube (center section) the 2014 measures a little longer at 14.5-15 inches and mine only looks to be 13.5-14 inches in length so a shorter driveshaft might need to be made. I wonder since my truck is a 4wd and my buddies is a single cab if we can just swap driveshafts? will have to see. Also looks like the brake sensors and stuff might work. The tubes look bent completely different but those are attached to the axle, both axles brake lines hook up in the middle the same. Gonna have to fig out the emergency brake hook up tho.
