2002 duramax with allison 1000..

just bought the truck not running. fuel tank was out.. i have put the fuel tank back in it and got the engine running now im trying to figure out what the hell they did to the transmission.. its got a remained trans from another 02 in it and i have replaced the imput turbine sensor/ manifold pressure sensor/ nsbu sensor/ ignition switch/ and the internal harness and solonoids. now im confused as to why it keeps blinking the gear indicator at me.

i did try putting my tcm outta my 8.1l allison and i can get it to go into drive but its a very hard shift. and reverse still didnt engagee.

What am i MISSING????

Do you have access to EFI live or a tech II ?

Try re-loading a stock trans tune into the Dmax PCM. Or/and resetting the trans TAPS and see if that helps .

Also check out the diesel place dot com or DURAMAX diesels dot com and search for NSBU problems .

But it sounds like you have a tune issue , I'm thinking you don't have stock tuning in that truck .

Did i read wrong? have you pulled codes? Does it say shift range inhibited then stop?

Could be a neutral safety switch, or wiring to it. But the best thing to recommend, it get the DTC's and post them up (diagnostic trouble codes). Then we can point you in the right direction.

put the 8.1l allison tcm back on and get codes p0847 p0872 p1688 p0700 u2106..

i get no codes with the tcm that was in it and no range inhibit..
pig tails on the nsbu are new and so is the nsbu

you mean the NSBU neutral safety back up switch.. it was replaced

Is everything adjusted properly? all fuses checked? Run the dmax tcm in it during this also. when you move the indicator does it blink under what you are choosing? it doesnt ingage any gear correct? kinda rev it up when you move the shifter to drive and see if it sets a code

adjusted 3 or 4 times. all fuses are good.. tryed running it with the dmax tcm and letting it run for like 10 min then shifting.. shifter blinked fairly quickly in any gear.. used thee 8.1l tcm and reved up to like 1000 rpm and BANG slams into gear. only drive no reverse and the gear indicator shows a blank D when that happened
