Default 9.5" 14 bolt

Okay have some questions and I've searched around for answers. I know that 14 bolt out of an ss silverado bolts right up under truck, and also the vortec max trucks. My question is if you look up on car part.com you can find a 9.5" ring gear in what looks like other trucks other then the ss and vortec max, will those fit? Is that what I'm also looking for? Will a gmt900 rear end bolt right up under a gmt800? I have a 2000 silverado lifted right around 6" extended cab 4x4 with a 10 bolt, truck is turboed and makes over 600 to the tires. I can't keep the rear end together which I know I needed to upgrade. I know I can go to the 14 bolt 6 lug in the years before mine but have to move perches and what not, I know I can put a 2500 axle in it from same years as mine, but the hub center is bigger and my wheels won't fit. I want a 14 bolt 6 lug that bolts right up, and making sure which ones work is it's only my year body in ss or vortec max or if the nnbs 9.5" work as well.

I believe the gmt800 and gmt900 tricks both have 49” spring perches so that would be good. The 4x4 axles are the and width, 2wd is narrower. The yokes are different in the 14 SF, you can use an adapter joint or swap the yokes. Most of them are drum brakes, but there are disc brake versions available. There are some other vehicles with the axles like the 1500 crew cab trucks. GMFS.com has some great info on this.

Okay yea I was just wanting to ask here and see what people are doing with some power. If I could swap them straight in I'd be completely okay with disc brake conversion and a joint. And yea if they are 49" then that would be good!

If your truck has factory rear disc brakes they will fit on the 9.5 14 bolt drum rearend with no mods.At least if its from an SS truck. They will be canted at 45 degrees but will work. When I swapped in a 2005 SS rear into my 2001 I went to the junk yard and picked up Tahoe rear calipers and brackets, I already had the Tahoe/ Suburban rotors. It was an easy conversion all bolted right up. The only mod was to swap in a conversion U Joint to accommodate the larger yolk on the 14 bolt.
