Default 8.6 g80 broken... need help on what to do

I've got a 2012 Silverado 1500 2wd with a 5.3. My truck has a 3.42 gear and a g80 locker. Anyway one of the spider gears shredded but something else inside not sure what it is broke. It looks like half of a block? Idk everything on the one side with the locker and those 3 bars going across all look good. I ordered new spider gears then realized today it's more then that. I was trying to avoid having to pull the diff out but I am assuming I have to now? Do anyone have any suggestions to fix it or should I just find a new diff? I'm on a tight budget what does anyone recommend? Thank you for the help! I'm still searching other threads right now also.

Just pulled one out of my truck if you want a cheap replacement. I maintain they're not worth much more than the iron they're made out of, so I'd ship it to you for about that if you want a cheap swap-and-go replacement.

Word of caution though. When I popped the spider gears in mine back in the day, part of the debris got caught in the ring and pinion and ruined them as well. Better check that first.

it seems to be turning pretty freely. It's been sitting for a couple weeks already being I didn't have the time to pull it apart and after checking it over today I think it would be ok at least for now. I let my wife take the beater car but it's barely even safe to drive now with all these dang pit holes on the road. They did a number to it so I need to get the thing up and running asap. I just need to buy myself time till I can actually just have it all replaced. I figured with all the metal shaving run a magnet in there and I would then fill it go drive it once it's fixed then come back and drain it and fill it all over again. I would imagine it should be ok then for a bit. What are you looking to get out of it?

Pretty sure I shipped one to a guy years back for $100. Would cost most of that for shipping since its like 40 pounds.
