8.6 g80 broken... need help on what to do
I've got a 2012 Silverado 1500 2wd with a 5.3. My truck has a 3.42 gear and a g80 locker. Anyway one of the spider gears shredded but something else inside not sure what it is broke. It looks like half of a block? Idk everything on the one side with the locker and those 3 bars going across all look good. I ordered new spider gears then realized today it's more then that. I was trying to avoid having to pull the diff out but I am assuming I have to now? Do anyone have any suggestions to fix it or should I just find a new diff? I'm on a tight budget what does anyone recommend? Thank you for the help! I'm still searching other threads right now also.

Just pulled one out of my truck if you want a cheap replacement. I maintain they're not worth much more than the iron they're made out of, so I'd ship it to you for about that if you want a cheap swap-and-go replacement.
Word of caution though. When I popped the spider gears in mine back in the day, part of the debris got caught in the ring and pinion and ruined them as well. Better check that first.
