Default Is the 6L85E out already?

Ran across this in an article about GM's woes (with more to come, I'm sure).

Anyway, I'm wondering - is there a production vehicle with this tranny in it already?

The 6L80E is, it's in the new vettes and a few caddy's. I was going to swap to this, but the gear ratio's blow. First gear would be totally useless, since its 4.0XX:1. Plus I thought it would/should be a close ratio 5speed with one overdrive. But in true GM fashion they decided to make it a 4 speed with 2 overdrives. The way the vettes get around the first gear is the fact that they'll come with 2.73 or something rear gears.

i don't know, my buddy has a titan(5spd Auto), for a purely street driven, daily driver type thing they seemed great, not sure how I'd like them at the track, there was alot of shifting going on..........hard to say.......I guess I'd just have to drive one and see.

I only have a probleem with 4 speeds when I'm taking off and turning at the same time. When I accelerate aggresivly but not enuff to break traction, as I complete the turn and get ready to nail it, it upshifts. So it bogs and then downshifts right back to first.

Thats my pet peave with the tranny too. Tow/haul mode fixed that though. Or just adjust the shift points in the normal mode.

I don't have tow haul right now, Next tune I think I'm gonna have two shift maps put in. I guess holding first gear longer would solve this, but that would be annoying and waste gas when I'm just putting around
