As far as what I've looked into, your platforms are straight forward and easy swaps. As I recall ( I didn't do in depth research as those platforms are pretty much 6L80 ready) the key components are the TCM harness, transmission tailhousing and new driveshaft yoke. I believe I've seen a few threads of people converting over GMT900's already.

I can understand it would be awesome behind some < 500 rwhp trucks but there isnt much aftermarket for these yet. id be willing to bet a built 65 would last longer but that is all speculation .

a built 4l80e will be a better choice until the aftermarket steps up to support more hp through the 80. a 6 speed would kick *** though. but the high hp guys will still be stuck with the 4 speed for now.

Sorry for lack of update. We had a brief moment of success. Then our prototype module was shorting out so we lost some time having new ones made then once we put it in we had a module fail in the transmission. One of the issues of buying a used transmission over a year ago and not testing it until it's installed. It's back at the dealer and I've 'strongly' encouraged them to have it done by this weekend.

I'm in for this. I think thats what is lacking in my truck. I chose the older gmt 800 because I'm in love with quadraster, but the 4l65 hides the power this truck has.
