4wd Encoder sensor?

OK, I've been getter DTC codes

[TCM] C0327 - Encoder Circuit Malfunction (History) (Immature)
[Brake] C0035 - LF Wheel Speed Circuit Malfunction (SES) (Old) (History) (Immature)
[Brake] C0040 - RF Wheel Speed Circuit Malfunction (SES) (Old) (History) (Immature)
[Unknown] B2527 - (History) (Immature)
[HUD] U1000 - Class 2 Communication Malfunction (History) (Immature)
[HVAC] B0229 - (History) (Current) (Immature)

Continuous Tests
Misfire: Complete
Fuel System: Complete
Comprehensive Component: Complete

and on occasion I get a "service 4wd" display and my switches wont function until I key off and on. I understand that in the past people had to buy a whole new encoder motor but I think I can just purchase the encoder sensor?
Can someone give me the rundown on this including part #'s and installation guidance? :eyes:

I've never seen "just sensor" being sold. I see the encoders on e-bay all the time. I've not done it but looks like a simple install. Unplug it, 4 bolts and swap them out.

 easy peasy! You may have to buy a wrench though. :P

They are much more expensive for the 03 and up. Looks like just 2 bolts. No saying this is the exact one you need but read the directions in it and they could hook you up.

I read that the whole assy does not need to be replaced, just can't remember where i read it :P

KySilverado Apr 23, 2009 01:25 PM

Well we pretended you were clueless as to the assembly replacement and purchase.

Don't think we need to pretend you are clueless to tearing the assembly down and replacing some sensor in it and making it work. :jest:
