Default 4L80e swap

Into an SSS, do I have to put a 2" body lift to make the trans clear the tunnel? I am thinking of grabbing one for a swap in the future, but I don't really want to put a 2" lift on the truck to make that happen.

thanks guys.

You should not need any lift.

why do I hear everyone sayign that because the 80s came out of HD trucks, that us 1500 guys would need a 2" body lift because the 80 is bigger?

DAMN

Thats a serious write up. I fully believe that I am capable of achieving the 80e swap successfully, my concern is down time. I don't think I will be able to have the truck down for the amount of time required to measure DS lengths, and work out any kinks that will probably arise. It got me thinking, what is a fully built 65E capable of in terms of AWD abuse? I am thinking of going as far as using a trans-brake and launching at 3500 on a 125 shot. Would a built 65 take that, or would it still grenade?

What would be required to convert a 60e to a 65e? I see a lot of 60s on ebay for cheap, and would be pretty interested in building one up.

No lift needed. I have mine swapped as well and I'm also lowered.
