Well nothing came of the tranny shop... and im getting a little discouraged.

I don't know that I want to deal with a bone yard unit either. I think at this point I'm leaning toward a full build.

I'm sorry to say that I don't think any good info will come out of the tranny that's currently installed which is also too bad. I would have liked to save this head and heart ache for someone else down the line.

As those of you who have been down this road know, shortcuts never work. Hell, I didn't even think I was taking a short cut and I was still burned. I'll be updating my build thread as well...

Alright so as one last shot I removed the boost valve tonight. I may be missing a washer. Does anyone have any pics of what it should look like after the HD2? Based on the instructions I'm missing a washer to hold the larger diameter spring up and stiffen the boost valve motion up and down.
The HD2 instructions were great and were to scale for the most part. That being said I think I'm missing a washer

You can see the smallw asher on the toip of the boost valve, but the instructions clearly look like there should be something else as well.

There's a picture in the instructions: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...please-507451/

If you forgot the washer perhaps that's the issue.

Yea thats what I tried to post... but apple devices suck for that ****. I went back and fixed my previous post to show the pictures I wanted.

There is a washer in my picture, but it sure doesnt look like the washer that transgo shows.

The second link you posted is different than my boost valve set up, but I am definitely missing EP-9.

I don't see any washer in your picture. The washer looks just like the one in the Transgo manual and the schematic i posted.

The washer serves as a base for the outer spring. Not sure what happens when the washer is left out. But I sure hope the fix is that easy!

Yea the only washer in my picture is sitting on the boost valve itself. It's small and made for the inner spring.

I received a lot of help from Chuck at FLT today. he confirmed that I am in fact missing the washer I need. I am trying to track one down now and I will be reassembling everything tonight.

With any luck this will fix the problem. I can't even tell you how relieved I am to have found this. I don't care if the tranny clutches are still smoked... it'll help me sleep at night

Also a giant to that washer... imagine smoking a tranny because of a missing washer.

Do any of you guys know if the 400 uses the same boost valve assembly? This GD washer is harder to track down than I thought.
