Default 4L65E Trans fluid in round connector

Hello, have a 2003 Silverado 5.3 with a 4L65E. I had the trans built and bigger stall converter years ago. The truck shifted fine when I parked it, no problems. It has sat for almost 2 years. I pulled the engine and transmission and now there is fluid leaking out of the main round connector on top. Is that a sign of overfilled or some seal went bad? Thanks In advance.

Im not sure if it makes a difference but I pulled the engine several months ago and strapped the converted in place, disconnected the trans lines and it sat that way under the truck for a couple months. I didn’t notice fluid leaking from connector then but im not sure.

There is an O-ring seal arount that plug and it could have shrunk.

If its leaking inside the plug where the pins are, then the harness needs to be replaced.

thanks for the help. This transmission is from a 2002 Silverado. It’s going into a 2003. Everywhere online shows 2 different harnesses for those years. Which should I go with?

Match the harness to what's in the transmission. not what your putting it in. They changed the internal connections on the harness to some of the solenoids.
