Would anyone be able to tell me if I can swap an 08 Silverado 4L60e into my 2005 Sierra? Thanks for any help you can offer.

ps: Both trucks are 5.3L

I think there are internal wiring harness and parts differences. IIRC, they made changes to the transmission in 06. might have been 05. Call up your local trans shop and double check. Biggest thing I can think of is, the electrical connections might be different. 08 is GMT900 and 05 is GMT800.

jik294, thank you for the reply. I did find some additional information that confirmed your comment. It appears from what I read that my valve body and wiring harness can be swapped into the 2008 model. If anyone else has experience with this swap I would really appreciate your help. Yes you can swap it no problem..all the 07/08 models have extra is the input speed sensor..witch your model doesnt use so doesnt affect it..if you do it vice versa swap in a 99-06 model in a 07-08 the check engine light will come on as it doesnt have the signal from the input speed sensor

GMCSIERRA5.3, I really appreciate that help. I have a chance to pick up a 2008 model with pretty low mileage for a fair price but I didn't want to do anything until I got more info. Thanks again.
