4L60e gurus...Trans-go hd-2 shiftkit ?

trying to put the new reverse boost valve from a transgo hd2 shift kit in...its longer than the stocker and we can't get the snap ring to fit in the groove...what shall we do?

Phantom 11-10-2009 07:46 PM

Stocker on the right. Tyler can machine the new one down on his lathe if he needs to. Even with the springs out, it will not get down to the groove for the snap ring.

You bought the wrong one. They come in two different lengths for the old and new style pumps.

thats kinda what we figured...so say hypothetically we machined that down...would it work?

TXsilverado 11-10-2009 11:30 PM

i wouldn't risk it and just exchange for the right part.

You can definitely machine it. I had to do this before the valve was even available! IIRC you need to remove .090-.100. Vince

So say in the pic I can machine the top part down .090-.100 and be fine. The part on the inside, leave it be?

Yes leave the valve alone just modify the sleeve.
