Default 4l60E with converter

How much converter in a 4l60e can you get away with and still be able to tow 5000 lbs?

You can get a 3000-3200 thats rated to tow with.

Ive used this in several trucks with cams and they tow car haulers.

The tune needs to be setup correctly.

Cool. I had no ideal that a converter like that could tow 5000 pounds.

Also a good idea to put in a cooler after the stock in-radiator one. (in the return line from the stock one to the transmission)

Can you elaborate a little b it on setup ?
Presume you Lock 3rd gear early, and STAY locked late for Tow-Haul mode ?
How about overdrive ? What shift speed-split/ vs lockup strategy do you use to mitigate monster rpm FLARE when unlocking in OD ?

Datalog TCC slip and program accordingly.
Not necessarily locking the TCC early. Just not trying to lock the converter when its at max slip then bogging engine.
Its a fine balance and takes a little while to get it just right.

Id rather downshift to 3rd and lock instead of unlocked 4th.
