4L60E Carnage!

Reminds me a little bit of 6.5td defenders. It's a great engine if you just understand how to, blah blah blah. Those guys eventually fall off once theirs grenades and they get sick of pouring money down a black hole, though I've seen some still try to explain away the catastrophic failure...

I consider myself lucky, my trans has held up
to my cammed 6.2 400/400 rear wheel for over
a year now. stock with a 2600 stall. only did a
trans adjustment in the tune. but my saving grace
is my truck only weighs under 4100 lbs. plus i don't
beat the **** out of it. but i don't baby it.

Or just do a 4L80 that from the factory that is better than any "built" 60e. This day and age, the only reason not to do an 80 is laziness.
60s are good in F bodies and Corvettes. Tahoe's and Suburbans? Who are you kidding? You can believe what you want, idgaf, but my comment is not stupid. He has a 408, in a truck that is 5500lbs at the lightest, and you're telling me you trust a 60e in that scenario, but I'm the stupid one?
Haha pal. Ha ha.
Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave

Case in point... Owner finally admits 80E would have been far less expensive Vs. the multiple repairs and down time...

Best upgrade return on investment hands down is the 80e swap. More than anything else, in my opinion and experience. No need in sinking a wad of cash into producing high hp/tq if the tyranny can't handle it. Best off to have the 80e in place FIRST before radical engine mods. Because as we all know, once you start chasing useable HP, it usually begets more.

There are 4 pinions running 9 second passes in full weight caprices. The planet isn't the weak link in a 60e. And almost none of their failures are from torque.

Some will say the 4 pinion planets are better than the 5. In either case, I’ve never seen a GM planet break.
The Chinese planets? Definitely break.
The weakest link in the 60e is the roller clutch assembly, sprag, front and rear shafts. In that order, usually.
I’ve personally busted 2 sprags, 2 roller clutches after my OMG expensive transmission took a ****.

I finally learned after pulling that bastard 4-5 more times, on my back, in my driveway.
The gallons of fluid I went through, the time and energy used.
The only plus to my saga is that I can drop the trans in about an hour now.
