Default 60 to 80 swap

First off I'm new to the site, my compliments from what i have read so far wow lots of info.
On to business i have a 05 Silverado 2wd std cab short wide bed 5.3, 4l60e trans w/transgo shift kit 3:73 rear end w/true trac, long tube headers, larger injectors, and a custom tune.
6 mths ago the out put shaft on the 60e broke, i replaced it with a built 65e now it broke. I dont want to waste more money on this trans, is the swap to a 4l80e the answer?
Your input is welcome. Thanks Jeff

Historically the 80e has far fewer problems than the 60e, especially behind some big power....but less guys have 80s than 60s... I just did the swap and am satisfied with it.

Default Done with the 4L65E

I'm on my third 65e, out put shaft breaks both times and i don't want to do this again. Unless i learn of something else its going to be the 80E swap. I have been reading on hear for hours still have not found the swap info I'm looking for. I'll keep reading.
Thanks for the input Guys
Jeff

I have a feeling that I'll kill an input/output shaft one of these days. When it happens, I'll probably run the 60E one more time, then go 80E or less power.

I went thru about 15 4L60Es before i went with an 80E..

No problems since.. also a very hard shifting 60E will kill the output shaft very quick. that was one of my problems, i learned later on anyway.

The swap is very very simple..

All you need is a complete trans, TC, dipstick, shifter bracket and Flexplate for 80E.
Mod your Crossmember and bolt everything in,, get a TH400 Yoke and i think you have to get your DS shortened.

Wiring is easy..
