Default 3.73 or 4.10 with my setup.

Hello all. First of all I know this has been discussed many times and I've prob read 90% of the threads out there discussing it. With that said sometimes I feel it's good to post up a new one to get fresh answers and opinions.

I have a RCSB 2004 silverado 5.3 4L60e that has full bolt ons small cam and a yank 3600. I'll be running a smallish shot later this year as well (100-150). I'lol be running some 28" Hoosiers so I bought a rear-end girdle and going to drop in a locker I have.

Question is if you were me would you make the switch from 3.73 to 4.10? It hooked pretty good on an old 275 drag radial last year with a small amount of spin depending on the track condition. Will I just be blowing the tires off when I spray it if I switch to 4.10? Also will it be trying to shift into 4th before the quarter? Any opinions would be appreciated. Also gas mileage or highway driving is no concern as it isn't my daily. I'm leaning more towards using the 3.73 at the moment.

Save the money and put it towards an 80e.

Not what you wanted to hear? Sorry, you're going to need an 80e before gears are an issue.

Lol. Any feedback is good feedback. I not concerned on breaking gears as I am just wondering if the money for 4.10s were worth it over the 3.73s I currently have. More less wondering if I was going to start blowing the tires off with the 4.10s.

and I'm out to prove all the 4l60 haters wrong... lol. I feel like she'll survive for a good while yet. Only time will tell.

Well, you've got a sense of humor. lol

Do the 4.10s. You'll probably have traction problems but with a good DR or slick you'll be fine.

On street tires, forget about it. It'll be fun though.

Thanks. I've been going back and forth with this for several months now. I guess the only other thing is I'll have to get it retuned foe the gears again. I really need to buy HP tuners for myself.....

I've got 2 brand new 28x10.50 Hoosiers sitting here so it should hook with those. Also got another 4L60e sitting here I may go through so we have a spare in case either the trucks or my wife's GTO decides to grenade one.

I was hoping to have all of this done but we had a incident with my wife's gto back in November and I've been replacing the roofskin and putting a rollbar in that.
