Default 2008 Tahoe PPV 4L80 swap

In the process of swapping in a 4L80E transmission setup into my wife's 2008 PPV Tahoe. So far, have the TCI flexplate installed, converter and transmission. Hd to trim the ear off of the passenger side of the case, and a little off of the torque converter cover. Had the driveshaft shortened an inch, replaced the u-joints, added a Spicer yoke and currently working on the cooler lines and mounting. Trying for as much of the factory look as possible.

We tow my wife's '99 Trans Am to the track and plan to get a small travel trailer in the future after our little one is old enough to enjoy it. 6000lbs is about the max it will see.

Default Heat wrap

IMHO, I would wrap that exh pipe running under the trans pan,
that,s a lot of heat coming off that pipe on to the trans.
just saying,

thanks for for the suggestion, I will look into it. I seem to have more clearance with the 80 over the 60 that was in it.

I plan to be doing the same thing to my 2009 here shortly. Did you have change around any of the wiring on the connector or the harness? I've read that repinning has to be done due to the 60e only using a single VSS sensor.

Since it was an '08 with a 15 pin 4L6x that already had an input speed sensor wire, I got the Speartech harness to retain the same feature for the 4L80E and utilize the ISS signal on it. Just have to do the necessary tuning changes, no rewiring needed. So far, shifts great!

Looks like the dirttrackracer tubular one. He is on this forum in the Vendor Classified section. <$200 for a tubular mount, builds them to order.

Thanks for the info. I've got a 08 PPV Tahoe and want to swap to a 4L80E.
