Default 2007 Avalanche jacked up with bigger tires looks really cool ! NOT

Now what is the real truth so I can tell grandson lol. What are the downsides if any of jacking up the truck. I realize the new technology and techniques have made huge improvements in kits but what is the purpose of it in the every day vehicle? I bought one 20+ yrs ago jacked up and replaced ball joints tie rod end hub axles steering rack and so on until I dropped it down to stock height. So as you can see I am biased in my opinion. Thanks for your opinions ---gramps.

The higher you go and the larger the tire size, the lower your mpg's go. I'm lifted 10.5" on 38's and my mpgs suck. I still need to regear which will help and I plan on adding an lsa supercharger but if your looking for an everyday driver with good mpgs don't go big.

^ that LSA is going to make your mileage worse

Pro:
Looks cool, more ground clearance if you actually offroad

Con:
Harder on parts, worse mileage, more expensive

The tires are what really do the damage, not necessarily the lift (unless you have front axle angles at something crazy).

stock is terrible MPG. Can't imagine worse especially if in a state where you have to drive a lot.
