Default 2001 4.8 chevy 1500 5speed manual

my truck is all stock and i want some more power. what are some decent mods to add and where to find them online. also it has a hard time planting the back wheels on the ground when i step on it making it kinda jump. would dropping it 2in in the front and 3 in the back help it out and wider tires?

Search around, TONS of options for mods. Cam swaps, headers, custom tuning etc etc. Re-gearing to something more aggressive like 4.10's or 4.56's if fuel mileage isn't something you care about.

Lowering it and traction bars will help stop wheel hop.

I had terrible wheel hop in my 2005 4.8 5speed. If your truck has a lift block between the leaf springs and the axle it creates more leverage and can lead to wheel hop and exploded rear ends. I would start with that, removing it would be as cheap as buying new U bolts.

Or you could look into some sort of traction bar. Caltracs are a common choice for lowered trucks.

More information about your truck would be great help.
